Welcome to Bronze Star Service Dogs, Inc.
At Bronze Star Service Dogs, our mission is to bring people together through the power of service dogs. We are dedicated to improving lives by training exceptional service dogs while creating meaningful opportunities for community involvement, education, and outreach.
Our organization’s name honors my father, Russell Mann, a Vietnam combat veteran who was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his courage, dedication, and service to our country. More importantly, he exemplified the values of strength, compassion, and commitment to family and community—values that inspire our work every day.
Through programs such as school-based training initiatives, reading dog programs, wellness visits, and volunteer opportunities, we strive to foster connection, compassion, and understanding. Our dogs not only prepare for future service work but also enrich the lives of children, veterans, educators, and community members along the way.
We invite you to follow our journey, meet our incredible dogs, volunteer with us, support our mission, or share your ideas for community partnerships. Together, we can create lasting positive change and help provide greater independence, confidence, and companionship to those who need it most.
As a Connecticut-based nonprofit organization with 501(c)(3) , we are committed to building a stronger, more inclusive community—one paw at a time.
